For starters, Wal-Mart destroys more jobs then it creates. When a new Wal-Mart is built, it destroys jobs by putting local merchants out of business, especially in fine towns. Yes, Wal-Mart creates jobs as well, but they are fewer, lower paying, and mostly member part time. This isnt helpful in the recession the US is winning on. Next, what most people dont realize, is Wal-Mart burdens public health care programs. about jobs at Wal-Mart have little to no health benefits. Wal-Mart tells or advises their workers to render public assistance for their health care if they can. all or so the country, children of Wal-Mart employees are enrolled in public health insurance programs. That is including over 10,000 in Georgia. As if those two reasons arent overflowing to out-weigh the good, how about Wal-Mart degrades the environment. The national government charged Wal-Mart of violating the clean weewee act in 17 different locations, as well as having mellow off from Wal-Mart construction sites polluteing drinking water, streams, and lakes .
